THE MAGNIFICENT QUEEN'S ROOM

Oh my, this vessel is so large, will we ever find our way??? Asked the crew for directions a few times... strange looks, uumm.....who wants to see the Queens Room this time of the day, but a photographer who saw the twinkle in our eyes laughed at our excitement and helped us find our way. (As time passed we could find our way to the ballroom no matter where we were on the ship....)  So now we are at the bottom of the staircase landing and I take a deep breath, we gaze at the Queen's portrait, "Are you ready, I ask him?" He offers me his arm, we enter.

First we see the floor, the inlaid wood is just beautiful. We are in awe to its size, yes this is a full size ballroom. We look up to the chandeliers, the recessed lighting and the domed ceiling with lighting that looks like stars. Nick thinks the frame around the bandstand resembles a tiara... I don't know and as I think about it he offers me his hand.... All alone in the Queens Room with music only in our minds, we waltz....

The orchestra was beyond wonderful each evening, playing until midnight..... They played a large variety of music such as tango's, waltz ,rumba and swings. Many of the guests had special requests which were always filled. How I loved after dinner every evening dancing in my ball gowns to beautiful music on a magical dance floor.... For the first time ever on a ship, we danced a quickstep with full strides.  For the single ladies there seems to be more dance hosts than dancers.....

The room is decorated in deep shades of gold and blue, the seating arranged comfortably on two levels. You can sit right on the dance floor level or pick the upper level for wonderful views.
