Just a few of my favorite things aboard the Queen Mary II

A detailed ship review this is not, rather some thoughts (and pictures) of a few of my favorite things we experienced while sailing her for eight days in November of 2008. Our first review goes into details on the ships interior while this time we did not take many pictures but rather left it to our memories.

So many of the lines have done away with formal nights, now calling them "formal optional". It leads to such confusion among the passengers who now all of a sudden have no idea what proper evening dress is.  It is so refreshing to sail Cunard where one knows once again how to dress for formal and semi formal evenings, further to know that formal dress is what the passengers prefer, not simply complying to a dress code published somewhere in a newsletter or sign at the entrance of the restaurant.  Now some would love to do away with the photographers who take away from the ships elegance with silly backdrops and wires taped to the floor, not me!! I love to let the photographers pose us to take pictures, browse the pictures the morning after, buy a few.

So here we go, a mini Queen Mary Fashion Show!!

FORMAL EVENINGS....

I enjoy wearing gowns with simple lines that have a unique design feature. I chose this gown for interesting low back. The gown has no zippers or clasps so it can by amusing to watch me  "wiggle" into it, but so be it!!

We had three formal nights on this eight day cruise, next is the Black and White Ball, my favorite gown to shop for.
