AND SOME FUN FASHION!
A bit later on in the cruise we had a third formal night. Sometimes even the best laid plans can go a stray. The gown I chose on this evening was originally worn with a train. I absolutely love the elegant look of a train, and I can't even begin to describe how much fun it can be to wear this type of gown design. What one does neglect to consider when all alone in a store's dressing room is the functionality of this choice. That on a cruise, at certain times, the public areas are crowded and that wonderful train is going to be stepped on, sometimes stopping you dead in your tracks...... If you would like to dance, it is just out of the question, you will trip on it... At least for me the wonderful train become a source of frustration, the reason I had the train removed for this cruise.
Each Lady will have to make the decision what they want more, really fun pictures or functionality. I went for the later.

There were a few what they call Elegant Causal evenings on board. I don't quite know what this means, but most of the ladies chose what one might wear to a cocktail party, some of the gents in suits, many though as Nick chose a jacket and tie. On both the causal and semi formal nights I chose less traditional outfits, instead went with something fun.
On casual night I went with a fun top and costume jewelry, while on semi formal a very 'poofy" kind of dress with pearls, equally as much fun to wear but this is hardly a dress that has a slimming effect and it sure took up a lot of room in the suitcase!

So there you have it, a Queen Mary fashion show! You bet, this is one of the favorite parts of the cruise for me and what attracts us to the Queen to begin with. To have fun planning what we will wear on the cruise, be among fellow passengers who have done the same and just the sheer pleasure of dressing formal for 8 nights!
Next our night out at the specialty restaurant Todd English...
